I obtained a master's degree in Experimental Psychology from Sapienza University of Rome and a PhD in Psychobiology from the University of Padua with a thesis on perceptual grouping processes in non-human primates and fish.
I study behaviour and cognition in humans and other animal species, with a particular focus on non-human primates. I conduct my research both in the laboratory and in the field and I mainly focus on perception and motor responses as highly interconnected processes that underlie how organisms collect information from the environment (attention, perception, and multisensory integration), use prior knowledge to interpret that information (categorization and use of rules/concepts), and produce goal-directed response behaviours (e.g., through manual actions).
