Eva Vriens is a postdoctoral researcher with a background in Sociology. Her research focuses on all types of collective action to deal with risk and uncertainty. She studied cooperative solutions to deal with both individual risks (mutualism) and collective risks (pandemics, climate change), with a particular focus on solutions relying on social norms and social networks. Her research is interdisciplinary with a multi-method approach, encompassing panel and survey data, behavioural experiments, and agent-based simulations. She obtained a PhD in Sociology (2020) at Utrecht University and the Interuniversity Center for Social Science Theory and Methodology (ICS) in the Netherlands. At the ISTC she is a member of the Laboratory of Agent-Based Social Simulation (LABSS)
