Alessandro Russo is a technologist at the Institute of Cognitive Sciences and Technologies within the National Research Council of Italy, specifically in the Semantic Technology Laboratory (STLab).
Before joining ISTC and STLab in 2015, Alessandro earned his PhD in Engineering in Computer Science from Sapienza University of Rome in 2014. From 2010 to 2015, he served as a research assistant there, concentrating on models and service-oriented architectures for Business Process Management (BPM). His work emphasized data-centric methodologies to enable adaptive process execution and support process flexibility.
Throughout his career, Alessandro has contributed to various national and international research projects, technology transfer activities and tenders, including the EU-funded research projects WORKPAD (FP6), SMARTVORTEX (FP7), CoMiFin (FP7), MARIO (H2020) and HACID (Horizon Europe).
He is interested in methods and tools for knowledge representation and management, particularly through Semantic Web languages and technologies, also in relation to application scenarios involving Artificial Intelligence and machine learning. He is involved in projects and activities that include the production and management of heterogeneous data and the use of knowledge graphs to support systems and software services in various application contexts.
