Sergio Benvenuto is associated researcher at the CNR (Institute of Scviences and technologies of Cognition) in Rome. Maîtrise in Psychology at the University of Paris VII, laurea in Sociology at the University of Urbino, Italy. He has taught at thge Universities of Siena (linguistics) and Chieti-Pescara (psychiatry). From 1989 to 1991 he was Visiting Researcher at the New School for Social Research di New York. Psichoanalyst, philosopher and essayist, he is the president of the Istituto Elvio Fachinelli ISAP (Institute for Advanced Studies in Psychoanalysis). He’s Emeritus Professor at the International Institute for the Psychology of Depth in Kiev. Ukraine.
In 1995 he founded the semiannual European Journal of Psychoanalysis, of which he was the editor until December 2020. He has collaborated and he collaborates to various cultural and scientific journals in the world, such as Lettre International (Berlin, Paris), L’évolution psychiatrique (Paris), Journal of the American Psychoanalytic Association, Division/Review (New York). He is member of the editorial board of the journals American Imago and Psychoanalytic Discourse. He has translated in Italian for Einaudi publisher Séminaire XX: Encore by Jacques Lacan, and other books and papers from Emglish and Italian.
