Elena Tomasuolo is a Researcher at Institute of Cognition Sciences and Technologies of National Research Council (LaCAM Laboratory). She researches into deafness, Italian Sign Language, assessment of linguistic abilities - with a particular reference to bimodal bilingualism , assessment instruments of linguistic and cognitive competences of hearing and deaf children, competences in writing-reading and specialized didactics for deaf pupils, family systems study in families with deaf children, theory of mind in deaf and hearing children, integration and inclusion of children with disability in the school field.
Psychologist, PhD in Psychology of Interaction, Communication and Socialization, Systemic- Relational Psychotherapist, Italian Sign Language Interpreter and Italian Sign Language Communication Assistant for deaf children.
At present in charge of a research unit in the project MODEL-ACT From Individuation to Modeling in Natural Language Ontology of Action. Grounding the Definition of Action Concepts on language infrastructures (financed by Ministry of Education, Universities and Research – FIRB - “FUTURE IN RESEARCH” PROGRAMME).
