Dagstuhl seminar on Planning and Robotics (PlanRob)

15 Jan 2017 - 17:00 to 20 Jan 2017 - 18:00
Schloss Dagstuhl Leibniz-Zentrum für Informatik GmbH Oktavie-Allee 66687 Wadern Germany http://www.dagstuhl.de/

A Dagstuhl seminar on Planning and Robotics (PlanRob) will be held the week 15th-20th of January 2017. The seminar is coordinated by Andrea Orlandini (CNR-ISTC).

The PlanRob seminar is concerned with the synergy between the research areas of Automated Planning & Scheduling and Robotics. It aims to bring together researchers from the two communities and people from the Industry in order to foster a broader interest in the integration of planning and deliberation approaches to sensory-motor functions in robotics. The other organizers of the seminar are: Malik Ghallab (Laboratoire d'analyse et d'architecture des systémes, Centre national de la recherche scientique, France), Nick Hawes (School of Computer Science, University of Birmingham, UK), Daniele Magazzeni (Department of Informatics, King's College London, UK) and Brian Williams (Computer Science and Articial Intelligence Laboratory, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, USA).

Schloss Dagstuhl – Leibniz Center for Informatics is the world's premier venue for informatics. World-class scientists, promising young researchers, and practitioners come together to exchange their knowledge and to discuss their research findings. The center promotes fundamental and applied research, continuing and advanced academic education, and the transfer of knowledge between those involved in the research side and application side of informatics. The key instruments for promoting research are the Dagstuhl Seminars and the Dagstuhl Perspectives Workshops, which bring together internationally renowned leading scientists for the purpose of exploring a cutting-edge informatics topic. The friendly and open climate at the conference center promotes a culture of communication and exchange among the seminar participants.
