Emilio M. Sanfilippo
I am currently researcher fellow at the Laboratory for Applied Ontology (ISTC-CNR) and I am enrolled at the Doctoral School in Information and Communication Technologies (29th cycle) at the University of Trento. My research focus is on ontology engineering for manufacturing, design, business process and product knowledge modeling. I'm interested in: Applied Ontology, Formal Ontology, Knowdlege Engineering, Logics, Computational Linguistics, Conceptual Modeling, Medical-informatics, Bio-informatics and Philosophy.
I had a research position from July 2011 to July 2013 at the Institute for Formal Ontology and Medical Information Science (IFOMIS; Germany) at Saarland University. At the IFOMIS my research was about the development of Semantic Web ontologies for Biology, Medicine and Veterinary Medicine with particular reference to oncology.
I graduated in Philosophy and History of Philosophy at the University of Catania (B.A 2010; M.A 2012).
