Stanbol has become a full top-level Apache project: a great IKS achievement
With the recent resolution of the board of directors of the Apache Software Foundation (ASF), the incubating project Apache Stanbol becomes a top-level project at the ASF. This is a big and important step to ensure that the work that has started in the EU IKS project will survive after the project ends in December 2012. STLab staff significantly contributes to Stanbol since it has been incubated, hence its role has been key for the project graduation. A number of STLab tools based on this open source project have been developed in the last few years. Now that Stanbol has graduated, such tools become even more valuable assets, especially from the perspective of possible new-technology testings with industry partners and public administration.
